BONE SOUP HELPS MARCUS RASHFORD CALL FULL TIME ON FOOD POVERTY
Bone Soup is producing all the video content for footballer Marcus Rashford and chef Tom Kerridge’s new initiative to end child food poverty in the UK – Full Time Meals.
Every week for a year, Marcus and Tom are posting a brand new easy-to-make recipe tutorial on Instagram to help families get cooking at home. Marcus is learning to cook using these recipes and a host of big-name celebrities have signed up to cook along too. Their efforts are being filmed, edited and posted weekly by Bone Soup.
“This project is for every child and I really hope parents and carers will benefit from having a bit of valuable time together in the kitchen when family activity is heavily restricted by financial restraints,” Marcus says.
Tom has created 52 delicious, family-friendly recipes as part of this 12-month programme. The recipes are simple and easy to follow with emphasis on limited equipment and inclusion of store cupboard goods with a longer shelf life.
No child should ever have to go to bed hungry. Today, far too many do. Before Covid-19 hit, 4.2 million children were living in poverty in the UK. Marcus Rashford’s ambition is to shine a bright light on this urgent national issue, but more importantly to equip children with vital life skills to support and help them as they navigate into adult life. The Full Time Meals initiative focuses on food education and kitchen confidence with the help of Tom Kerridge who is now part of the National Food Strategy team.
